Author Guidelines

  • All manuscripts should be addressed to the Editor, National College Research Journal (NCRJ), Dindigul Road, Tiruchirappalli - 620 001, Tamil Nadu, INDIA and should be submitted through e-mail at editor.ncrj@nct.ac.in with a covering letter giving (i) names and complete addresses (including telephone numbers, e-mail i.d. etc.) of all the authors and (ii) title of the contribution. After submission of manuscript, any change or request for change in the ordering of authors is not permitted. Upon such requirements, the corresponding author has to formally withdraw the paper and may resubmit afresh.

  • The manuscript should clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication. This responsibility includes answering any future queries about the reported contents. The corresponding author has to ensure that the e-mail address is given correctly and the contact details are kept up to date.

  • Submission of an article implies that it has not been previously published and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Further, that if accepted, the article should not be sent/published elsewhere.

  • Ensuring the absence of plagiarism, use of copy righted material with due permission from the respective owners and other scholarly publication related legal requirements are the sole responsibility of the communicating author. In this regard, he/she has to coordinate with his/her team of authors for smooth editorial processing of the manuscript.

  • Authors wishing to include figures, tables, or text passages that have already been published elsewhere are required to obtain permission from the copyright owner(s) for both the print and online format and have to include evidence for such permission obtained while submitting their manuscripts. Any material received without such evidence will be assumed to originate from the authors.

  • Copyright: Upon receiving by e-mail an article, authors will be asked to complete a Journal Publishing Agreement with National College. An e-mail will be sent to the corresponding author confirming receipt of the manuscript together with a 'Journal Publishing Agreement' form which should be filled and submitted to the editor.

  • Ethical/legal obligations: Appropriate declarations should be made by the authors if the manuscript deals with clinical findings or humans /animals as subject of study.

  • Author conflict of interest statement: Authors must acknowledge the organizations that have provided financial support for their work. Any other conflict of interest must be declared at the time of submitting the manuscripts.

Categories of Manuscripts:

  • Review articles: These can be in about 5000-6000 words with cited references limited to a maximum of 100 in number. The manuscript should is expected to survey and discuss current developments in a scientific field and should be of scholarly nature. At least one of the contributing author should have an appreciable number of publications in the surveyed topic.

  • Research articles: These can be in about 3500-4000 words report describing the research results of major significance. They should include an abstract, an introductory paragraph, and brief subheadings

  • Research communications: These can be in about 1500- 2000 words, containing important new findings that are novel and of fairly broad interest. They should include a brief abstract and an introductory paragraph.

  • Other related content such as the abstracts of best papers selected in the conferences, selected invited papers in conferences etc. may also be considered for publication. For such submissions the convener or organizer of the research event may contact the editor.

Manuscript Preparation:

Manuscripts should be typed and double-spaced. The pages should be numbered consecutively, starting with the title page and through the text, reference list, tables and figure legends. The manuscript should be ordered as follows: Title page, abstract, key words, text, acknowledgements, references, tables, figure legends (on separate page preceding the first figure), figures (one figure per page; the figures should be labelled). The title page should contain Title, Authors, Affiliations, and Corresponding author and address. The title should be brief, specific and amenable to indexing. Not more than five keywords should be indicated separately; these should be chosen carefully and must not be phrases of several words. Abstract and summary should be limited to 150 words and convey the main points of the paper, outline the results and conclusions, and explain the significance of the results. References should be numbered in superscript, serially in the order in which they appear, first through the text and then through table and figure legends. References should not include unpublished source materials.

Review System:

This journal follows a single blind reviewing policy, where both the referee and author remain anonymous throughout the process. Please remove all identifying features from the paper itself, ensuring that Authors' identity is not revealed. However, this does not preclude Authors from citing their own works. However, Authors must cite their works in a manner that does not make explicit their identity.

Use of word processing software:

The submitting manuscript file must be in *.doc or *.docx format. A pdf conversion of the file may also be sent for reference. Use single-column format.

Acknowledgement:

When funding for the reported work is from a block grant or other resources available to a university, college, or other research institution, submit the name of the sponsor agency/institution that provided the funding. If no funding has been provided for the research that may also be indicated.

Data:

All relevant supplementary data/ data sources/ algorithms pertinent to the reported work must be submitted along with the manuscript for evaluation. However those additional information will not find place in the published article. It is the responsibility of the communicating author to share such information when requests are made on the basis of the published article. The software, code, models, algorithms, protocols, methods and other useful materials related to the work must be appropriately mentioned in the manuscript.

Proof correction:

Corresponding authors will receive an e-mail containing a copy of the accepted article for proof correction. All instructions for proofing will be given in the e-mail. The file sent must be used only for checking the typesetting, editing, completeness and correctness of the text, tables and figures. Significant changes to the article should not be made at this stage. The reply has to be made within four days and proofreading is solely the responsibility of the communicating author.

Published Issue:

All the contributors to an issue of the journal will be informed about the published print issue through e-mail.
