BIOFEST 2023

Dear Students,

We are thrilled to announce the Cultural and Talent Competition, in the name of BIOFEST-2023, which will be held on 18-02-2023 in our College campus.

Biofest-2023 is open to all students of our College who are interested in showcasing their talents and cultural heritage.

  • The competition will start at 9:30 am and will include

  • Each participant can participate in multiple categories

    • The prizes for the winners of each category are as follows:

    Each prize will carry points and accumulated to identify the Department for Championship Trophy and Prize Money.

    RULES OF THE EVENTS

    Common Instructions

  • The common theme for all the events, excluding Meme, is “75 Years of Independent India”.
  • Each team (set of participants from each department) MUST have an accompanying staff and a team leader.
  • The team leader MUST submit the Hard Copy of the registration form on or before 14-02-2023.
  • Entries after the deadline will not be entertained.
  • Participants MUST reach the venue of the events (will be announced during inauguration) on-time.
  • Late participation will NOT be entertained.
  • For all the events, reference materials of ANY sort will NOT be permitted.
  • For all the events, the decision of the Judges is final. No further queries will be entertained.
  • Any form of deviation from the rules/misbehaviour will be seriously viewed and the team will be disqualified.


    • ADZAP

    Rules and Regulations:

    The contestant should deliver their marketing skills, on-spot topic, for 60-120 sec spontaneously on a given title. Preparation time of 2 mins will be given.

    An attempt of less than 30 sec will be considered as non-participation.

  • Product explanation should contain Unique Selling Point
  • Benefits of the product
  • Target stake holders
  • Services offered by the company
  • Entries: 3-4 per team 1 entry/dept
  • Time Duration: 2 min

    • ARTISIA

    Rules and Regulations:

  • Artwork must be an original piece, completed solely by the participant.
  • Materials allowed include Pen, pencil, markers, paints, oils, charcoal, watercolors, canvas, and art sheets.
  • Stencils/stamps are NOT allowed.
  • Entries: 3 entries/dept.
  • Time Duration:1 Hour

    • FIRELESS COOKING

    Rules and Regulations:

  • Any pre-cooked food items are NOT entertained.
  • Participants should display a chart having the name of the dish, its ingredients, and the calorie count of each ingredient.
  • It is the responsibility of the participants to bring the ingredients and items required for the fireless cooking and working table will be provided.
  • Participants should not bring any cut, chopped, or grates raw materials. They should process it on the spot within the allotted time.
  • Dishes should be purely vegetarian.
  • Entries: 2 per team, 1 entry/dept.
  • Time Duration:1 Hour

    • Face Painting

    Rules and Regulations:

  • Body parts to paint: Face, hands till elbow. Participants should bring their own makeup materials, colors, paints, brushes, etc.
  • Only Skin Friendly materials are allowed. Participants are NOT allowed to use stencils/stamp/false eyelashes/special effect contact lenses/novelty eyeglasses or sunglasse
  • Entries: 2 per team,1 entry/dept.
  • Time Duration:1 Hour

    • EXTEMPORE

    Rules and Regulations:

  • The contestant should deliver a talk, on-spot topic, for 30-60 sec spontaneously on a given title.An attempt of less than 30 sec will be considered as non-participation.
  • Preparation Time – 2 mins
  • Entries: 3 entries/dept.
  • Time Duration:1 min

    • Quiz

    Rules and Regulations:

  • An objective type written exam will be conducted to choose the final teams participating in the competition.
  • Final round will have 2 teams.
  • Entries: 2 per team,1 entry/dept.

    • MIME

    Rules and Regulations:

  • The act should not contain any dialogues, lip-sync, and /or props.
  • No act shall contain any offensive, obscene, disrespectful actions or gestures.
  • The act will be immediately stopped and the entry will be disqualified if the instructions are not followed.
  • Usage of appropriate materials and music is permitted.
  • Negative points will be considered for exceeding the time limit.
  • Entries: 3-5 per team1 entry/dept.
  • Time Duration:3-5 min

    MEME

    Rules and Regulations:

  • The Meme should match with the theme “Campus Life”.
  • The meme should be uploaded in the link on or before 15-02-2023
  • 3 entries/dept.

    RANGOLI

    Rules and Regulations:

  • 1. Rangoli should be 3 ft x3 ft max and it should not exceed the size.
  • 2. Participants should bring all the required materials for rangoli.
  • 3. Only flowers and colors can be used for making Rangoli (Salt and edible cereals are strictly not allowed).
  • 2 per team1 entry/dept



    • Music - Solo

    The contestant should perform any Indian light music number of their choice for a minimum of 2mins.

    Medley of songs/remix/vulgarity in lyrics is strictly prohibited.

    Dual voice modulation is not entertained.Karaoke track is permitted and should be ready in advance.

    Preliminary screening will be done on 16/02/2023 and only selected contestants will be permitted to take part in the final contest on the stage.

  • Entries: 1 entry/dept.
  • Time Duration: 2 min

    • Music - Duet

    The contestant should perform any Indian light music of their choice for a minimum of 3 mins.

    Medley of songs/remix/vulgarity in lyrics isstrictly prohibited.

    Karaoke track is permitted and should be ready inadvance.

    Preliminary screening will be done on 16/02/2023 and only selected contestants will be permitted to take part in the final contest on the stage.

  • Entries: 1 entry/dept.
  • Time Duration: 3 min


    • CARVE IT

    Rules and Regulations:

  • Contestants should produce one sculpture made entirely of fruits and/or vegetables.
  • Flower decorations, artificial colorants and supporting frames of plastics/metals are not entertained.
  • All tools including hand tools and machine tools are permitted and contestants should bring all the required materials
  • No pre-preparation of vegetables or fruits before competition is allowed.
  • 2 per team1 entry/dept




    • LAUNCH PAD

    Rules and Regulations:

  • A team of 2 members
  • Should display the product and justify its originality in terms of idea and production
  • Should disclose details such as ingredients or applications of relevant particulars
  • Should be able to sell the product and disclose cost of production and sales margin
  • Prize winning product will be evaluated based on its genuinity, originality and answers for queries by audience and the jury.
  • Novelty of product, Creativity, (both in production and selling as well) Participants / team would be disqualified if found fake or incomplete in answers.
  • 2 per team

    • USE IT

    Rules and Regulations:

  • Participants will be given 2 minutes to talk about their creativity.
  • The required waste material and stationery like scissors, thread, etc. should be brought by the participants.
  • Waste material could be anything like tetra packs, bottles, newspapers, old utensils, jute material or any second-hand items that otherwise would be thrown away.
  • The material would be rejected if not found to be a waste product or a second-hand item. No ready or semi-finished model or matter would be accepted
  • Participants will be judged on Creativity, Utilization of Resources, Artistic composition design, Eco-friendly rating, Utility of the Product and Overall Presentation
  • 2 per team1 entry/dept.

    • INSTRUMENT

    Rules and Regulations:

  • The contestant should perform any musical instrument of their choice for a minimum of 2 mins.
  • Contestants should bring the musical instruments on their own.
  • Karaoke track is permitted and should be ready in advance.
  • Preliminary screening will be done on 16/02/2023 and only selected contestants will be permitted to take part in the final contest on the stage.
  • 1 entry/dept.
  • A preparation period of TWO minutes is granted.
  • Usage of reference material of any form is strictly prohibited.
  • Accessing assistance from the audience would lead to disqualification.
