About The Department
Since 1987, with the launch of BBA Programme, the Department of Business Administration has forged a reputation as a centre of rigorous business thinking and high-impact transformative education at National College, Trichy. Having carved out a niche for itself in bringing forward the current trends and thinking from the academia and professional practice, it applies the combined knowledge to specific business situations to turn this thinking into accomplishment.
The Department celebrated its silver jubilee in the year 2013. Students initiated co-curricular events, entrepreneurship guidance, seminars, workshops and conferences enhance a comprehensive learning of the theories with practical insight.
The entrepreneurship club of National College powered by the department offers a base of all the students with business aspirations to test out their potentials with startups or experimental business ventures.
The placement records set by the department in the best companies all over the world stand as a testimony of the resounding success of the department. Students of the department constantly indulge in Human Centered Innovations from designing products to marketing with intellectual property rights as successful “Innopreneurs”.

Prof. R. Natarajan
- He is having more than 10 years of teaching experience in the fields of Commerce, Management, CA, CWA, ACS.
- He is a certified zonal trainer for JCI ( Junior Chamber International)
- He is a life member of India Accounting Association, Indian Commerce Association, Indian Academics Research Association.
- He received best research Scholar Award from Indian Academics Research Association. And best JCI Award from Zone JCI India.
- He Coordinates ED Cell & ACS Course at the campus.
- He has trained more than 600 candidates for UGC, NET, SET Paper 1 and more than 250 candidates for Professional courses.
- The Department regularly provide inputs and imparts training to the students with latest market related concepts viz. online trading, stock market functioning etc. through annual programmes and under Department association activities.
- The staff of the Department regularly contribute articles to the professional literature.

EVENTS
Events
The Department conducted the following academic events using online platforms.
- The Department conducted National level Webinar on 30.05.2020 at 11:00 a.m. on the theme "Covid-19’s impact on Indian business". Dr.T.Praveen Kumar, Assistant Professor, Ramaiah institute of Management, Bangalore was the resource person.
- Business Administration Department’s inaugural association meeting was held on 30th September 2020. Dr. L. Kalai Bharathi., M.B.A.,M.Phil.,SET.,Ph.D., Principal, Swami Vivekananda Arts and Science College, Vallam, Thanjavur 613403 was the Chief guest and she spoke on “Emotional Intelligence – A Path for Success.” The students Dev U Shah (III BBA ) and Salai Nimala Mani (II BBA) contributed to the success of the meeting with the help of staff coordinators.
- Association inauguration meeting for the Shift-II batch students was held on 12/10/2020. Dr. Amalanathan, Head, School of Business and Management. Christ (Deemed to be a university), Bangalore, Karnataka was the chief guest and he spoke on the significance of Extracurricular and Co-curricular activities in student life. The students Dev u sha, Salai Nimala Mani, Kingsley, Gunasekar Balakumar and Arivinth coordinated the activities of the meeting under the directions of Dr. P. Subramanian.
- The Department of Business Administration and National Center for Financial Education (NCFE) jointly organized a sponsored workshop on Financial Awareness and Consumer Training (FACT) programme in the webinar mode on Wednesday, 28th October 2020. Dr.K.Prabhakaran, NCFE, SEBI Financial Education, was the chief guest of the programme. He gave valuable inputs to students on financial goal setting, Card enabled money transactions and Educational loan. The students Dev u sha, Salai Nimala Mani, Deepan, Gunasekar Balakumar and Arivinth coordinated the activities of the meeting under the directions from Dr. P. Monisha Devi and Dr. M. Nirmal, Assistant Professors, of the Department.
