ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Since 2020, with the launch of B.Voc(ICT) Programme, the Department of Bachelor Of Vocation (Information Communication Technology) has forged a reputation as a center of rigorous Technology thinking and high-impact transformative education at National College, Trichy. It is based on the scheme launched by the University Grants Commission (UGC) on Skill Development. This programme gives opportunity for students to have multiple entry and multiple exit. The students can leave the programme with a Certificate / Diploma / Advanced Diploma / B. Voc. Degree under the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF).

This programme in its curriculum incorporates specific job roles and their NOSs along with broad based General Education. As a discipline, B.VOC spans a range of topics from theoretical studies of algorithms, computation, and information to the practical issues of implementing computational systems in hardware and software. concepts of various subjects like Programming techniques of Hardware, Cloud Computing, Data Mining & Warehousing, Digital Marketing, UI, UX Design and Testing, Hardware and Troubleshooting and Graphics Lab- Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Animate , Advance Excel in etc ..

The curriculum is expected to assist in the maintenance of the standards used in Hardware, Software Technologies across the country by reviewing and revising a vast set of frameworks of agreed/expected graduate attributes, qualification descriptors, and programming learning .The practical based approach to the curriculum plictsng intends to deliver the knowledge Communication Technology outcomes. The curriculum is designed based on some of the important skill-sets outlined Good knowledge and understanding of these subjects are critical for any exposure in the IT Industry. The students are expected to learn the curriculum with advanced tools and technologies professionals, or an entrepreneur. Graphical representations and available online tools for implementing the written code .This curriculum and the knowledge of the practical application of the subjects will help to apply their knowledge in the future course of their higher education, career or research.

Eligibility

  • The eligibility condition for admission to B.Voc (ICT).Programme shall be 10+2 or equivalent, in Any stream.
  • No age bar in this course.
  • The course curriculum has 40% general education (Theory) and 60% vocational training (Practical) components.
